I have hand-drawn some designs and have started to work with Creo Pro to see how the USB circuit will fit within the casing.
Creo Pro
The image above shows how I designed a simple casing to fit the USB. The darker grey area shows the inlay that will house the USB and the red shows the accurate sketch of where the USB Circuit will sit.
This image clarifies my Creo Pro design. I initially drew the casing to 18mm, however I added an extra 5mm on the right hand side which could hold the opening mechanism and pin.
Corel Draw
In order to gain a better idea of how my final product will look I have decided to draw the designs from my hand-drawn ideas in Corel Draw. I will laser cut these in card so that I can test the mechanisms and gain an idea of size and the visual aesthetics of my final product.
